Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Helping Hands Cusco.
The volunteers that have assisted the organization over the past few years come from countries all over the world including: Holland, the United States, Germany, Peru (Cusco), and many others. Your help, on any level, works to improve many peoples’ lives and will forever be a part of this project.
Below is a list of existing opportunities, including a short description of how you can expect to help our project.

this year we will start two new programs for voluntering:
1º BIG BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF HELPING HANDS:
This program will allow “short term” volunteers to spend a Saturday in the role of a big brother or sister with various children that are part of the Helping Hands project. We will cycle the children so that each child has the opportunity to enjoy the day with a volunteer throughout the year. A meeting will be held with the interested volunteer on Friday afternoon. This meeting will also serve as an introduction for the child and the volunteer. The Saturday will be free for the volunteer and child to do what is both satisfying and entertaining for both participants. Volunteers are expected to behave in a mature fashion and exemplify the model of an older brother or sister. We hope that this experience can serve as both rewarding and educational for the children and volunteers!
2º SACRED HANDS
Mission:
We take willing volunteers into rural areas of the Sacred valley, giving them a more realístic hands-on and intrinsic experience working in local communities to improve the live`s of rural Peruvians.
The Experience:
This volunteer experience will vary from time and in location. We aim to give volunteers a realistic cultural experience while working in a rural setting. This experience could consist of working in fields, harvesting crops, building ventilation systems for open pit fires, repairing or imrpoving various facilities, devloping more sanitary conditions for families, or more simply put, anything needed to help improve the life of the given community or family.
Requirements:
There are no fees for this program. However participants will be required to provide money for their own expenses, such as traveling, food, etc. Depending on the event and time of year the experiences will vary. It is not uncommon for the participants to recieve a traditional meal or gift from the family or commuity, but this is not garunteed. These experiences could be anything from a single day`s adventure to an overnight excursion. In the event that this experience is overnight, participants could potentially need to rent/bring anything from a tent to a sleeping bag. Although these experiences will vary from time to time, the experience is up for molding to the participants self-interests, so long as the time is designed to benefit the community or family that we are working with. Also, we will always hold a meeting with those interested in the program, providing details, requirements and answer to questions regarding the upcoming project.
