THE TAIPE CHIPANA FAMILY
Mother PLACIDA TAIPE CHIPYU brings up her family alone as a single parent. She works with us at the project in the “Comedor Popular” and washes clothes ad hoc, this is her sole income. She is mother to three children. The family live in a house that Placida looks after for the absent owner. The house lacks both running water and drainage thus fresh water is obtained daily from a spring far from where they live. They all share a single room which functions as their kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom. The father of the children only visits once a month and does not contribute financially to the costs of the family.
Her children are:
-Yadira, 7 years old, her birthday is the 22nd of January.
-Jose Gabriel, 5 years old, his birthday is the 7th of January.
-Ana Lurdes, 3 years old, her birthday is the 13th of April.
